Friday Favorite: Infinite - The Chaser

Friday Favorite : INFINITE - The Chaser

For a while now we have been anticipating the return of a ever-growing boy group, Infinite. We've been stalking them Inspirits ever since they debuted back in 2010 and so far they've never failed to disappoint us. They released their mini-album 'Infinitize' on the 15th so we've decided to review them for this week's friday favorite. Are you ready to be 'Infinitized'?? (hehehe.....)

OMG!!! We had been waiting impatiently since they released the teaser for this comeback in March and gosh don't you think Woollim Ent is such a troll? The teaser released back then does not correlate at all with their new title song 'The Chaser' but we're not really complaining because we got to see the members looking so manly and sexy.

The title song of their third mini-album 'The Chaser' has a a lot of electronic tunes with catchy drum beats. The song is about a person fighting for their love. To be honest, we weren't very sure what to think of this song at first. We didn't like it straightway like other Infinite songs, but the more we listened to it the more we liked it. So in conclusion....we LOVE it now!

The song, however, doesn't have the best English in it "We got the only chance" could've been rephrased to "We've got only one chance". It would've sounded less awkward. But the thing is, it's not that noticeable because you don't even realise they are saying that in the beginning unless you look at the translation.

The mv is very interesting as it has a hidden story line that isn't very obvious at first. So after repeating the song a few times we have come up with our version of the story they are expressing in the mv. So at the beginning they show Leader Gyu magically magnetizing a key to his hands. This key doesn't seem important at first but near the end all is explained.

The 7 (sexy) members of Infinite seem to be fighting each other (not physically...they need to take care of their beautiful faces) for the "box" shown at the end. The box we think represents the girl they are fighting for. We don't know what's inside the box cause it never gets opened so we can assume that it must be her heart (since Infinite is fighting for her love) or her ashes (she might have died and the members might be fighting so one of them can spread the ashes which is inside the box) or whatever else. The winner of the box  is maknae Sungjong who somehow manages to get the key even though we saw less of him in the mv. And
man did L's car crash last a very long time. (not to mention that he still managed to look daebak at moments of peril~)

Leader Gyu vs L (for the "key"):

L's got the key (he doesn't look very happy though). . .

Leader Gyu becomes a killer (poor L). . .

and the owner of the key
You must have felt guilty right~

Dongwoo vs Sungyeol (for the "key"):

They decided to race on bike's. . . (are you sure it's not to have fun??)

But Sungyeol takes the wrong turn. . .*tut tut* should've read the signs
Meanwhile. . . (the random pair)

spider man Hoya

Maybe cuz you danced there 2 secs ago??
And the winner is. . .

 The man inside the 3D shape-box. . .

Sungjong!. . . [Walskjfi?? He only appeared in the story line for 3 secs before]

We've been Inspirits for a long time, and there are many things they are famous for and that we love about Infinite. First off, they are all good looking and they've always had really catchy songs which we never get tired of listening to. But what differentiates them the most from other groups and made them more known is probably their 99.99% synchronized dance moves. In this mv they do not disappoint with their sexy dance routine at all. They're all in harmony and not to mention, their legs look a mile long!

In sync like always
Submit to the leader!
All in all, this is a great Infinite song that brings along new concepts and shows their maturity. We would have preferred it more if the MV had a better story line that isn't as encrypted and symbolized....sometimes a straightforward story is much easier to understand and doesn't take away our attention from the awesomeness of their dance moves and song. Also, we would have like to see a bit more of Hoya, Sung jong and Dong woo. Their characters in this story were....not as developed as the others.

Look at that poker face.
Either way, we are forever Inspirits and it is always a pleasure to be part of this family. We love this song and the rest of the album which consists of great tunes. We hope that you can enjoy Infinite with us and support them on their journey. We have definitely been Infinitized for now and forever.

If you haven't yet, be prepared to be INFINITIZED!!! (below. . .)
Let us know your thoughts on the mv. . . Have you been Infinitized?

Song : 4.5/5

From inSane to all Inspirits out there for your active imaginations.

Fell asleep on that long car crash.
